Photojournalist Tyler Brownbridge is the newest member of The Windsor Star photo team. He graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in his home town of Calgary, Alta., with honours in 2003 and was awarded the Western Canadian News Photographer Association's Student of the Year Award.

Since his graduation, he has work for the Edmonton Sun, Belleville Intelligencer and the Guelph Mercury before moving to Windsor in 2004.

It didn't take long for his work to get noticed and in 2005 he was selected to attend the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop in New York.

He is a regular contributor to Photosensitive, a group that strives for social change through documentary photography.

He has been awarded for his work by the Newspaper Photographers Association, Ontario Newspaper Awards and The Canadian Press.
